Lenny LaCroix was born in Chicopee, Mass. in 1941. He began playing the piano at age 5, started his first band at age 12, and earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Hartford in 1968.
In 1969, he moved to Los Angeles where he became music director for Mitzi Gaynor and Ann Margret. He then worked with Lucille Ball, Robert Preston, and Bea Arthur on the feature film Mame. Subsequent to working on several John Denver TV specials, he worked on the Jackson’s summer series, Sonny and Cher, The Keane Bros. Over the years, other television projects included America Salutes Richard Rogers, five Academy Award shows, three Emmy shows, several Miss America pageants,The Big Show,several Shirley MaClaine and Ann Margret specials, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and Snoopy the Musical
In 1970 he married Susan Backer and the couple subsequently had two children, one of each. They now have one grandson, one year old.
During his career,he has conducted for Joel Grey, Leslie Uggams, Gabe Kaplan, (Mitzi Gaynor and Ann Margret mentioned above), and Tony Danza. Film credits include Mame, Grease, S.O.B. and For the Boys.
